Lowville — Laura B. Nevills, 86, of 5590 River Street in Lowville died on Saturday, June 07, 2014 at the Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born on July 18, 1927 in Natural Bridge the daughter of George and Rachel Burgess Olley.  She attended schools in Natural Bridge and West Carthage. She married the late Harold Nevills who died in 1976. She was primarily a homemaker and she also was a bookkeeper for her husband’s milk hauling business and farm. She was also involved in the Civic Club and PTO at Copenhagen Central School, Sunday school teacher, and other organizations mostly school activities.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and his wife Wendy Miller Nevills, Copenhagen, Terry Nevills, Sandy Creek, Bonnie Lin Montgomery, Adams, daughter-in-law Peggy Edwards Nevills, Copenhagen, Brenda and her husband Dave Harper, Carthage, Pam and her husband Dave Aubin, Watertown, Joel Nevills and his companion Anne O’Hara, Parish, and a daughter Jackie and her husband Larry Gorczyca, Glenfield. She is also survived by a brother, Bruce and his wife Betty Jean Olley, Alabama and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Harold Nevills, a son Dale Nevills, and three brothers David, Llyod, and Edward.

A Memorial Service will be held privately by the family. A celebration of life will be held at Peg Nevills Home, the original family homestead, 3061 Mechanic Street, Copenhagen at 2:00pm on Saturday June 14, 2014.

Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., Located at 500 State Street  in Carthage.
