Lieselotte Anne “Lilo” Cardarelli, 80, died on December 10, 2013, at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm, with her family at her side.

Mrs. Cardarelli was born September 19, 1933, in Amsterdam, Holland, daughter of Wilhelm F. and Lizbeth Zadach Hubner. She married Robert Lawrence Cardarelli on June 7, 1958, at St. Anthony’s Church in Elmira, NY.

She graduated from middle school in Wunstoff and spent two years at Krefeld Textile Engineering School at Munich Art Academy in Germany. Mrs. Cardarelli was a beautician before she became a German Instructor at Cornell University and a professional artist, retiring August of 2013.

Mrs. Cardarelli was a founding member of Breakwater Art Gallery in Cape Vincent, NY and a member of the Hand Weaving Museum in Clayton, NY. Mrs. Cardarelli enjoyed weaving, gardening, artwork, fishing, swimming, cooking and reading.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, Richard Steven and Deborah, Roderick Evan and Patrice; six grandchildren, Ashley and Richard, Danon, Drianna, Jacob and Robert all of Rochester, NY.

There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc.
