The memorial service for Louis J. Cook III will be 11 am Saturday, May 4th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Patrick Ratigan, pastor of St. Cecilia's Church officiating.

Calling hours are Friday, May 3rd from 3 pm - 7 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY  13601, the Henderson Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Squad or to the Belleville First Responders.

Mr. Cook, 71, Fargo Rd., Henderson, passed at the Hospice Residence on Gotham Street, Friday April 26th following an eighteen month struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Louie was born in Rochester, a son to Louis and Elizabeth Lighthouse Cook Jr. He graduated from Charlotte High School in Rochester. He was union elevator mechanic for many years working for several companies around New York State, retiring in 2006.

Louie married Marlene Jacques, May 5, 1962 at the Mother of Sorrows Church, Town of Greece.  Louie and Marlene owned and operated the Westview Lodge and Marina in Henderson Harbor for 25 years from 1975 until 2000.

Louie was an outdoorsman and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a member of the Henderson Trap Shooting Club, the Lake Ontario Fisheries Coalition and Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene, Henderson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Louis J. IV and Ginger, Henderson; Duane M., Phoenix, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine Marie and Rex Allen, Sackets Harbor; six grandsons, Justin (Anne) Cook and Brandon Cook; Jeremy, Jordon, Cameron and Ryan Allen; two great-grandsons, Calvin and Wezley Cook; a great-granddaughter, Adora Cook; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Jane Cook, Rochester; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The Cook family is very blessed to have such wonderful, supportive friends and family. Thank you all so very much for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  Louie was a tough, strong cookie and put up a determined fight. He kept saying he was going to miss everyone.
