Mark K. Edmonds, 57, of WatertownMark K. Edmonds, father to two, plumber to hundreds, and friend to even more, died of heart complications on March 19th, 2013. Mark loved the art of spoken word, and was quite good at it. He always had an answer to every question you asked, and a story for every one that you didn't. He had dozens of trademark phrases that would certainly come out during a conversation. Mark was also a walking encyclopedia of music and a one-of-a-kind dancer. These fantastic traits were built from an extensive collection of music, a love for seeing live shows, and an overall passion for rock n’ roll. Mark was well known for his ability to handle any sort of plumbing job. He spent countless hours kneeling down next to toilets and crawling around in damp basements. He was often called upon by his family and friends, as well as the community, to fix, adjust, correct, repair, or heal just about anything. Sometimes you didn’t know how he did it, but he never seemed to let you down. Mark had many hobbies. He knew his way around a kitchen. He loved creating new recipes and discussing food. He was also a rock hound for many years and studied Geology in college. He enjoyed getting out and taking long drives along the back roads of the North Country. He was excellent at taking the longest route possible to any destination. He had a green thumb as well. He loved taking care of a garden that he and his neighbor shared. He left behind a son Rusty, who was his best friend, and a daughter Holly, who was always his “baby." He had no problem spending entire days just talking to his son. He loved vacationing in his daughter’s back yard. This involved relaxing in a lawn chair, listening to good music, and sharing stories and bad jokes. Also surviving is his father Robert, who was his porch-mate, as well as his older brother Roland and his family. He will be joining his mother Ellen who passed away in 2001. Arrangements are being held through Reed & Benoit Funeral home in Watertown, New York, with a memorial service set for the spring. Those who knew Mark know that he would have asked that “non-people”, as he would say, do not attend. Condolences may be made at www.reedbenoit.com. |
