Mrs. Laurel Mae Bissonette (McGregor), 75, of 28 Munson Street, unexpectedly passed away Saturday morning, December 7, 2013 at the home of her brother, Floyd, in Norfolk.

Laurel was born August 17, 1938 in Malone, the daughter of the late Floyd J. and Marjorie I. Cross Bissonette.

On January 2, 1957, she married Gerald Martin McGregor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Walter Funeke officiating. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Laurel was a homemaker who devoted life to her family. She enjoyed many outdoor activities and had a great love for bicycling. She was member of the Potsdam Senior Citizens and also enjoyed collectibles.

She is survived by her four loving children, Martin G. and Lori McGregor of Knoxville, Tennessee, James J. and Lisa McGregor of Gouverneur, Carla J. Ingram of Nicholville and Andrew G. McGregor of Castle Rock, Colorado; her grandchildren, Taylor, Tierney, Torrey, Kaitlyn, and Emily McGregor, Melissa Woodward, Matthew Deshane, and Michael Ingram; and her great-grandchildren, Teigan, Cade and Ella Woodward, James and Madeline Deshane.

She is also survived by her sister, Leslie and Gary Hamilton of Brasher Falls; her brothers, Floyd and Mary Bissonette of Norfolk, William and Elizabeth Bissonette of Knoxville, Tennessee, Daniel and Ruth Bissonette of Brasher Iron Works, Andrew and Marla Bissonette of Oswego and Vernon and Sue Bissonette of Cranberry Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Laurel was predeceased by a son, Gerald Martin McGregor, in August, 1960 at the age of 15 months and a brother, Donald T. Bissonette, on May 27, 1967.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 100 N. Main Street, Massena, Thursday 6-8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Scott D. Fobare, celebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
