Mrs. Louise Cree, 85, of Akwesasne
AKWESASNE – Mrs. Louise Cree, 85, of Sunrise Acres, passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2014 at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center, where she had been a patient since May 29th after suffering a stroke.
Louise was born February 7, 1929 in St. Regis, Quebec, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Smoke Hart and attended schools in St. Regis.
Louise worked for many years as a cleaning lady at the Onondaga Community Bank in Syracuse. She was communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, having been to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Florida. Louise also enjoyed going to the mall, watching television, and just being in her “pride and joy” – her car.
Louise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Judy Cree of Lafayette, New York; two grandchildren, Lisa and Bob Cree; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Cree on January 1, 1994 and her brother, Francis “Frankie” Hart on September 10, 1985.
Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 AM at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Osuji, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
