Nathan D. Northrop, 26, of Adams Center
A Celebration of Nate's Life will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, May 4 at the home of Michael and Tracy Northrop, 757 South Massey Street, Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions in Nate’s name to the Northern New York Community Foundation, 120 Washington Street, Suite 400, Watertown, New York.
Nate passed away April 29th at his family home in Adams Center.
Nate was born June 19, 1986 in Watertown, a son to Michael A. Northrop and Bethany J. Northrop. He was a 2004 honor graduate of South Jefferson High School in Adams and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English from SUNY Geneseo in 2008. He was especially interested in Irish literature, and studied in Ireland during his college career. Nate was currently working on the family farm with his father Michael and brother Micah.
Nate enjoyed hunting, camping, archery, rock climbing, building, welding, music, playing guitar, and literature. He was currently planning construction of his own yurt. He loved spending time with his family, friends and caring for animals.
Nate is survived by his parents, Michael and Tracy Northrop, Watertown and Bethany Northrop, Watertown; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Micah A. and Gina, Adams Center; Jonathan M. and Jennifer, Brownville; Timothy J. and Kirsty, York, New York; Daniel P. Ferry, Manhattan, New York; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Brenna and Jeff Ginger, Adams Center; and Elizabeth and Brendan Hall, Cleveland, Ohio; grandparents Adele Machia, Adams Center; Vivian Tessmer, Gouverneur; Julia S. Northrop, Underhill, Vermont; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nate was predeceased by his grandfathers, Robert P. Northrop on March 30 and Max E. Tessmer on February 14, both of this year.
