Ralph A. Hansen, Age 83, of Strawberry Lane, died Monday at Samaritan Medical Center. Mr. Hansen’s funeral will be at 3pm Saturday at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton with Reverend Donald Briant officiating. Calling hours will be from 1pm until the time of the service.

Mr. Hansen was born February 7th, 1929 in Rochester, NY, the son of Edward and Pearl Oakley Hansen. He attended Rochester schools. He served in the United States Army from May of 1952 until he was honorably discharged in April of 1954. As a tool and die maker, Mr. Hansen owned his own pattern shop that was called East Pattern and Model Corporation, retiring in 1983. He was an active member of the Shriners and Jesters.

He had a summer cottage in Clayton on the St. Lawrence River for over 50 years and loved fishing. After retiring he spent many of his winters in Florida until becoming a full time resident of Clayton in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Gloria Young of Clayton, a daughter and her husband; Jill and Todd Foster of Clayton, 2 grandchildren; Cory and Faith Foster of Clayton, 3 nephews and 2 brothers; Arthur and Edward. He was predeceased by one niece.
