Richard S. Greco, 80 Born in Watertown
Mr. Richard S. Greco, age 80, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Watertown, NY on December 26, 1933, Richard was the son of the late Frank and Estelle (Sypher)Greco. He was raised and educated in Watertown. A veteran of the United States Army, Richard honorably served his country. On September 15, 1956 he married the former Gail L. Baker with whom he shared 57 years in a union that God graced with good times, happiness, and love.
For a period during the 60’s, Richard was a salesman with the Shepard Paint Company, and at one time, managed the Pin-O-Rama Bowling Alley. He also owned and operated a Window Décor Company. In keeping with his patriotism, he enjoyed the spirit of the American Legion, holding the position of County Commander. He was also a member of the Bowling Association and had the honor of being inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gail; his daughters, Beverly A. Greco, and Lisa R. Greco, both of Whitesboro; his grandchildren, Melissa Chiellino, and Morgan Snow; and his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella, Anthony, and twins Nina and Carmen. He also leaves behind his sisters, Mary Barcomb, Frances King, Carol Walti, Louise Durante, and twin sisters and their spouses, Sheila and Charles Branch, and Sharon and David Reddin; his brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Pat Greco; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was also blessed with the love of Carmen Cristallo; and many special friends.
The family is grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Clark North at the St. Luke’s Home, for the loving care they rendered to Richard during his stay.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Richard’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Felix Colosimo with Military Honors.
Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
