Robert W. Brothers Jr., 61, native of Norwood

Mr. Robert W. Brothers, Jr., 61, a native of Norwood and most recently living in Pulaski, NY, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Bobbi Jo Brothers-Robinson in Norfolk, after a lifetime of ill health.

Robert was born March 24, 1951 in Massena, the son of Robert W. Sr. and Pauline Branchaud Brothers.  He graduated in 1971 from Norwood-Norfolk Central School and in 1983 from Canton ATC with a degree in Electrical Engineering. A marriage to Janet Claffey ended in divorce.

Robert was an electrical engineer in Security I.N.C. first with Niagara Mohawk, later becoming Constellation Nuclear in Scriba until his disability retirement in 2001.  He was a member of the IBEW Local 97 and enjoyed woodworking, photography, drawing, and listening to music.  Robert also was an avid reader, working on his computer, and annoying his children.

He is survived by his four children, Bobbi Jo Brothers-Robinson of Norfolk; Tina Fumano of Massena; Jonathan and Amanda Brothers of Williamstown; and Amanda and Ben Fregoe of Norwood and three grandchildren, Matthew Robinson, Emmaleigh and Kaleb Fregoe. 

Robert is also survived by his brothers and sisters, John and Pauline Brothers; Gary and Lynn Brothers; Stephen and Amy Brothers; Paul Brothers; Mary and Steve Sunkel; Sally Despaw; Roger Despaw; Dwight and Andrea Despaw; Kathy and Bob Christie; and Tony and Lynn Despaw; and two half brothers, Glenn and Bryon Brothers.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday 2:00 PM at the Raymondville Community Center, Route 56, Raymondville.  Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where memories and condolences may be shared online at www.donaldsonfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Friends of Oswego Hospice, PO Box 102, Oswego, NY  13126.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Robin Trumble, the Oswego County Meals on Wheels, and Oswego Hospice for their care and support of Robert during his illness.
