Rosemary Brown, 79, of Emerson Street, died Sunday evening at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mrs. Brown was born September 18, 1934 in Watertown to Everett and Florence (Bartlett) Dillabough. She attended Watertown City Schools, graduating in 1952.

She married Charles Brown October 12, 1963 in Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Brown worked at Longway's Diner for over 35 years and later for the Watertown City School District as a lunch room monitor.

Mrs. Brown was a NY Yankees fan, an Elvis fan and enjoyed bingo, playing the lottery and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband of 50 years, Charles, are two daughters, Lindy (Bruce) Jackson, Three Mile Bay, Cindy Cedar, CA; a son, Charles (Ann) Brown, Watertown; three step-children, Larry (Melissa) Brown, Watertown, Timmy (Marcy) Brown, TN., Carol (Alex) Salisbury, Depauville; two brothers, Richard (Edith) Dillabough, Plessis, William (Diane) Dillabough, Watertown; three sisters, Carol (Gerald) Gibson, Watertown, Vicky Newberry and Susan Wilson both of Watertown; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Burgenstock, and three sisters, Rita Tibbles, Janet Derring and Pat Savage.

The memorial service will be 7:00 pm Thursday October 17, 2013 at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
