Ruth E. Fitzgerald passed away Tuesday, August 7, at the age of 89.at St Joe ‘s Home  A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral where she was a devoted parishioner on Friday, August 17th at 1:30 p.m. in celebration of her life.  With the Rev F James Shurtleff Officating


Ruth was a life resident of Ogdensburg.   She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hattie (Bishop) Fitzgerald.  

She is survived by one sister, Edna Vinch of North Syracuse and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 4 brothers (Everett, Edward, Leslie & Leo) and 1 sister Helen (Sister Mary Bernard). 

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and went on to work for many years before retiring in 1985.  She was a loving daughter and sister, taking care of her mother and sister in their later years.  The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Home for their support and caring for Ruth. 


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Home, St. Mary’s Cathedral, or a charity close to your heart.  

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery following the mass.
