Sharon T. White, 67, of Massena

MASSENA – Mrs. Sharon T. White, 67, of 169 Fayette Road, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 2, 2012 at Samaritan Medical Center, where she was had been a patient since May 1st.  Sharon had been in failing health since November.

Sharon was born April 25, 1945 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Donnelly Turcotte.  She graduated as the Salutatorian from Potsdam High Schools and later from Nazareth College in Rochester.  On July 1, 1978, she married Joseph A. White at the Newman Center in Potsdam with Father Bernard Kellogg, officiating.

Sharon was a speech pathologist for 33 years with Massena Central Schools, where she worked in all the elementary schools in the district.  She was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Board.  Sharon was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association and truly enjoyed going to lunches with her retired teacher friends and church members.  She truly loved spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.  Sharon also enjoyed reading and doing “Sudoko” puzzles.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe; her four children, Michael White, Patricia and Dale Olson, Karen White, and Jonathan White and his companion, Jenna MacKinnon, all of Massena; her grandchildren,  Jessica, Jordan, and Kyle White; and her great grandchildren, Aiden Riley.

Sharon is also survived by her sisters, Dr. Jan Turcotte of Watertown; Suzanne and Lary Fleetham of Perry Sound, Ontario; and Ruth LaCombe of Massena; her brother, John and Judy Turcotte of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Sunday 1-4 PM.  Funeral Services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeffrey V. Aiosa and Rev. James E. Barnes, II, co-officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
