Shirley J. VanEpps, 61, of Mannsville

Mannsville - Shirley J. VanEpps, 61, of Lorraine Street, died Monday morning at the Colonial Park Nursing Home in Rome, NY where she had resided since June 19, 2012.  There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm Saturday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Walter Giles, interim pastor of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Adams, officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Rural Cemetery, Adams.  Calling hours will be from 1:00 - 2:00 pm preceding the funeral.

Born April 17, 1951 in Watertown, daughter of Alden and Kathleen Smith Lee, she attended Union Academy of Belleville.  She married Ronald J. VanEpps of Adams on July 17, 1974 at the Belleville United Methodist Church.  The couple lived in Adams all their married life before moving to Mannsville in 2004. 

Mrs. VanEpps was a resident at Mercy of Northern New York for several months before moving to Colonial Park Nursing Home to be with her husband who had recently become a resident there. 

Surviving besides her husband Ronald, is her mother, Kay Lee, Adams; a daughter and son in law, Jessica and Todd Mesler, Mannsville; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Austin Mesler, Mannsville; two brothers, Gary Lee, Belleville, Michael Lee Sr., Belleville; one sister, Mary Miles, South Carolina; two sister in laws and a brother in law, Bev and Joe Burnap, Wisc., Bernice Smith, Minn; and several nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by a daughter Tammy, who died in infancy, her father Alden Lee, a sister Linda Abrams and her mother in law, Margaret VanEpps.

Mrs. VanEpps was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Adams.  She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years with her mother in law Margaret VanEpps and especially enjoyed spending time with her husband and grandchildren.
