Weymouth K. Beckstead, 79 of Maple St, Massena died early Saturday morning (November 10, 2012) at his home surrounded by his loving family and Hospice.

Funeral services for Weymouth will be held Tuesday (November 13, 2012) 12:00 Noon, at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to call at the Phillips Memorial Home from 4:00 - 7:00pm Monday (November 12, 2012).

Weymouth is survived by his wife Eileen, his sons, Kendrick, Bruce and daughter in law Paula, Thomas and Paul Beckstead all of Massena, three granddaughters; Brittney, Annalee and Carly Jane, four grandsons Spencer, Aiden, Noah and Caleb all of Massena, nieces and nephews, stepchildren; Mike and wife Joanne Walsh, Mrs. Daniel (Marcia) Henry; Monica MacDonald, Mrs. Tom (Margo) LaCombe, all of Massena and Mrs. Timothy (Marcy) Brown of Abilene, TX.

Weymouth was predeceased by his first wife Mary Jane of nearly 43 years January 26, 2004, his three brothers, Craig, Stuart and Brenton, also his sisters Lorna in infancy and Meredith Nelson. Weymouth again found happiness with his marriage to Eileen (Sauve) Walsh on August 5, 2009 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Weymouth was born in Ogdensburg, NY November 10, 1933 the son of Margaret (Blakely) and Percy E. Beckstead. He was a graduate of both Massena High School and Syracuse University. Weymouth started his career at Reynolds Metals Company as a chemist retiring in 1990. He married Mary Jane Whalen April 23, 1960. Weymouth was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart, a member of the Bereavement Committee, RCIA, and the Massena Country Club. He was past president of The Monday Luncheon Club and a volunteer for the Massena Meals on Wheels program. Weymouth was a past board member of the Massena Rescue Squad, and at one time active in Massena Minor Hockey, Little League Baseball and the Cub Scouts. Weymouth many interests included golf, cross country skiing, traveling, being outdoors and volunteer activities. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
