Weekend of November 13-15

The film 2012 opens across the North Country and the USA today.  I love a bad disaster film. When I was a kid, I was obsessed with seeing them, of course in the seventies there was a new disaster film every year, some years there were more than one.  My all time favorite is the spectacularly bad, but brilliantly campy Airport -75 with the famous line “Salt Lake, Salt Lake, something hit us.” – I was thinking of putting this on my headstone except change “us” to “him.” Who can forget the indelible image of the cross-eyed Karen Black flying the plane?  Priceless.  If anyone sees 2012 over the weekend, feel free to post your opinion.  Any film that tries to sell John Cusak as a scientist or an expert on anything should be a hoot!
