I was just in the Flower Memorial Library on Tuesday(one of my favorite places on EARTH!) and I noticed that they still had quite  few books left for sale.  Their Bag Sale continues through this weekend.

Great Matinee Concert:

November 21 at 2:00PM:  Area All-State Concert
Area All State is a NYSSMA sponsored music festival which included students from Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Clinton, and Oswego counties.  The students are selected based on their solo festival scores from last spring.  This regional festival brings in noted conductors who work with the students all day on Friday with a concert on Saturday.

Yuletide Family Weekends at Santa’s Workshop, North Pole, NY
North Pole, NY, November 11, 2009 – Santa’s Workshop Yuletide Family Weekends will take place Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays November 20th through December 20th 2009. 


Yuletide Family Weekend Packages include two days of admission to Santa’s Workshop, two nights of lodging, two breakfasts and dinners, and two evenings of special entertainment and a surprise visit from St. Nick with unique gifts for the children.  Special activities include caroling, magic shows, and audience participation events such as The Twelve Days of Christmas and the Great Christmas Tree Heist. Admission to Santa’s Workshop includes kid-friendly rides and activities, unique and handmade specialty shops, and a wide-range of live family entertainment. Kids can even feed live reindeer at the reindeer barn, and learn about the origins of the Christmas tradition at the Nativity Pageant.

The Philadelphia Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary is sponsoring a one-hour Zumba® class on Saturday, November 21, beginning at 11:00AM at the Philadelphia Fire Hall located on Route 11 in Philadelphia.

Zumba® fuses high energy Latin music and easy-to-follow dance steps like salsa, hip hop, and belly dance.

Participants may register to win a spa gift basket. The cost is $5.00 per person with the proceeds benefiting the Philadelphia Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary.

Friends of Tonya Benefit Fund

'The List' will headline the Friends of Tonya Benefit Fundraiser at O'Brien's Restaurant and Bar on Saturday, November 21 at 2 pm.

Tonya Barnes is a 1988 graduate of the Thousand Islands Central School District and a lifelong Clayton resident. In September 2009, Tonya suffered a serious fall. Since September, Tonya has undergone several surgeries to her neck, back and hip at University Hospital in Syracuse.

The Friends of Tonya Benefit Fund is being established to raise funds to purchase a special accommodation mattress, and to defray expenses her loved ones encounter as they travel to Syracuse to provide support and assistance to Tonya. Donations will be accepted to build a ramp at her residence, as well as donations for the auction. Those willing to volunteer for the event are encouraged to contact the organizers.

The Friends of Tonya Benefit Fundraiser is scheduled to run from 2 PM to 8 PM November 21. A cover charge will include a door prize raffle. Scheduled bands include 'The List', with other musical entertainment TBA. Other events of the day include a live auction conducted by Terry Fox, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Also offered will be a bake sale and a Lasagna Dinner ($8.00) for eat-in or take-out.

The Beaver River Central School Relay for Life Team
is sponsoring a Bunco Tournament on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm at the American Legion in Croghan.  Entry fee is $15.00 per person.  Prizes will be awarded for most wins (1st, 2nd, and 3rd places); most Buncos, and a booby prize!  Coffee, punch, and finger foods will be provided. will have two concerts for Nov on the 21 we will have back Lea Teachout and the Misfits from Sandy Creek area Bluegrass Gospel piano ,violin, upright bass, guitar.  All concerts are on freewill offering basis so come and enjoy this evening with folks in Northern N.Y. on the 28th of Nov we will once again have a musician night bring a instrument and join us with some of the best music this side of heaven starting at 7:00pm. we usually play gospel favorites that many have heard as they have grown up in this area usually listening to the radio .
