Free Creative Writing Workshop Being Offered

Tools

By Craig Thornton

A Goddard College MFA in Creative Writing candidate seeks creative writers at any stage of the game to attend an 8-week workshop. Classes will be held every Tuesday starting Feb. 16th until April 6th from 6-8 PM. Our focus will be T. S. Eliot's famous quote "Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal" and how "stealing"--or updating proven literary techniques with our own unique perspective--improves our writing. Poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and playwriting will be discussed and practiced through weekly writing exercises.

Please contact andrew.adams@goddard.edu (315-287-3421) with your name and email/phone number to secure a spot; we will be meeting at Borders Bookstore in the Salmon Run Mall, and seating is limited. Those hoping to workshop current projects are welcome, but should be willing to produce short in-class assignments as well.
