The date was July 15, 1988.

Roadies were busy setting up for the legendary Charlie Daniels Band to perform. 

The setting was Wescott Beach State Park near Sackets Harbor. 

The weather was threatening. 

Organizer Joe Rich was more than nervous about the Disabled Persons Action Organization's first outdoor concert.

Years later the Charlie Daniels Band returned to Watertown for an indoor concert.
