TV Dinner: Cranberry Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is a tradition for many this time of year.

Chef Chris Manning shows us a variation that uses cranberries and maple syrup.

Cranberry Apple Crisp
 
For The Topping
 
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- Pinch ground cinnamon
 
Mix all ingredients together in a medium-size mixing bowl. Set aside.
 
 
For The Apples & Cranberries
 
- 4-5 cups peels, cored and diced apples
- 2 cups raw cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- Pinch ground cinnamon
 
Mix all four ingredients together in a medium-size mixing bowl. Pour into a 9" x 13" baking dish. Pour topping over the apple-cranberry mixture.
 
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool slightly and serve in individual dishes and garnish whipped cream or ice cream.
