Chef Chris Manning has a recipe perfect for a Labor Day weekend cookout.
It's a barbecue sauce made from root beer.

Root Beer Barbecue
- 1 12-ounce bottle root beer
- 1 cup of your favorite brand of barbecue sauce
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
Reduce the root beer by about a third in a two-quart saucepan on low heat.
Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Use as a marinade and basting sauce for chicken, pork or beef.
