American Idol Recap February 28, 2014

By Craig Thornton

Idol feels like a youth festival this year.  The scene where the finalists were having dinner at a restaurant reminded me of a high school drama class outing.  It was fun and filled with energy.

Malaya Watson’s bottom three vote pissed of Jenny from the Block.  Jennifer feels that Malaya is great and she just didn’t deliver the best performance she is capable of. This is too bad, but now that I think of it, she did look like some kind of manic wind up toy.

Okay Candice Glover (last year’s winner) might not be the most famous Idol ever, but her voice is fine.  Her performance last night reminded me of why she won.

Of the next four idol contestants brought forward MK was announced to be in the bottom three.  She is so much better than Sam, who was in the same group, but made it through.  Of course he will move ahead because 15 year old girls have smart phones and hormones.

Kristen O’Connor surprisingly was also in the bottom three, which is a surprise, because she is quite the looker.

Actually I think she is the only one of the bottom three (Kristen) that should be there.

Kristen is voted out then she has to sing for her survival. Yikes she picked an Adele song… suicide!

What a savvy smart idea for Idol to have faces of FB supporters who voted for Kristen up on the big screen. This will encourage more FB votes for all contestants if voters see their face up on national television.  Way to work the Social Media.

Needless to say Kristen is out of there, because the save vote from the judges was not unanimous.  She went packing back to the Sunshine State, where she will perhaps end up in some weird Florida news story or find a 15 foot python living in her backyard.
