The SLC Arts Gallery is seeking artists from local universities for a new exhibit: “Bang, Bang, Bang,” which will open Friday, April 5.

Students are invited to submit work in any media which fits the theme “This is the way the world ends/ Not with a bang but a whimper,” a line from "The Hollow Men" by T. S. Eliot. Students do not need to be art majors, but they must be currently enrolled at SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Canton, Clarkson University, or St. Lawrence University.

Artists may submit up to three pieces which relate to the theme, and a gallery fee of $5 per piece is required. Students should deliver artwork between March 20-23 or March 26-29 to the SLC Arts Gallery at 51 Market Street, Potsdam. A juror will select pieces on March 30, submitters will be notified by April 2.

Participants are encouraged to attend the opening reception on Friday, April 5 from 6:00-8:00pm. The exhibit runs through Saturday, May 4. For more information, contact the SLC Arts Council: 315-265-6860, slcartscouncil.org, facebook.com/StLawrenceCountyArtsCouncil.
