Arts All Stars Reception

Arts All Stars Reception

On Friday, June 8, a reception was held for this year’s Arts All Star winners.  The celebration was held at the Atrium of The Franklin building next door to Arts on the Square, the gallery and offices of the North Country Arts Council.  About half of the 21 Arts All Stars from the 2012 season were present.  Members of the North Country Arts Council administrators from here at Channel 7 and representatives of the sponsor, McDonald’s were present as well.  Additionally, parents and some teachers who nominated the students were also present.

As the coordinator of Arts All Stars here at WWNY, I felt very proud of all our Stars.  Furthermore, I want to thank members of the North Country Arts Council for helping kick star this program and for McDonald’s for sponsoring it.  I would like to extend a special thanks to Andrea Pedrick for her volunteer work on this project.

For years Channel 7 and other media institutions have celebrated the achievements of high school students.  However, that has usually included athletes and academic achievers.  We are proud to celebrate the high school artist here and help launch their future careers as productive creative people who will bring us beauty.

In this photo some of the arts all stars are seen with represetnatives of Channel 7, McDonalds and the North Country Arts Council.
