According to several sources production of the 8th season of The Big Band Theory (Season premiere Monday, September 22nd right here on CBS WWNY7)  is on hold pending contract negotiations. 

Both the Hollywood Reporter and TV Media Insights website have posted articles today reporting that Five out of Seven of the regular actors on the highest rated sitcom on television are without contracts.  In which basically amounts to a three tier salary/bililng deal, Emmy winner Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco are considered stars and are currently making about 300K an episode and are negotiating as a team to get $ 1 million.

Also in negotiations are Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyer who play Howard and Raj, are also negotiating but at a smaller per episode fee.

Emmy nominee Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch who play Amy and Bernadette have already signed their deals.

It isn't unusual for stars of highly rated sitcoms to command a million dollars, it happennd before with all six stars of Friends.  Charlie Sheen made much more than a million per episode when he was fired.
