CPS Productions Presents Famed Musical 'Cats' July 7 - 12

By Craig Thornton

Community Performance Series Productions will present 'Cats' in SUNY Potsdam's new Performing Arts Center from Monday, July 7 to Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Wednesday, July 9 and Saturday, July 12.

"Rehearsals have begun with full force - 8 hour days of continuous, intense dancing and singing. The rehearsal room is filled with sweat, aching muscles and a sense of rising above to create a show that is on the same level with any nationally known professional theatre. Designers, choreographer, director, musical director, performers and Potsdam community talent join together to present this exciting and captivating production of 'Cats'," exclaims Director Donna Drake.

Performance tickets can be purchased online at www.cpspotsdam.org, by phone at (315) 267-2277, or at Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam. Regular ticket prices range from $15-$30 with discounts for seniors (62+) and student/youth (0-18). Premium box seats are available for $40 or $50 and can be reserved by calling the CPS Box Office directly.

Producers Club support is still being welcomed. Producers Club contributions are necessary to ensure the continued production of live theatre performances in the North Country. To become a member, please call the CPS Box Office directly at (315) 267-2277.
