Cinema 10 Tonight - Monday September 30th!
Adapted from Yasmina Khadra’s novel, The Attack is about a prominent Arab-Israeli surgeon, Amin Jaafari (Ali Suliman) who learns of his wife's dark past in the wake of a suicide bombing in downtown Tel Aviv. Ziad Doueiri takes up a very sensitive subject. It is through a shocked and grieving husband's quest to discover the truth that the region is depicted as torn between the desire for peace and the resurgence of hatred nourished by constant conflict.
“The film, an arresting and upsetting one, is also about love, trauma, and trust, both within one particular marriage and within entire cultures… The most frightening thing in the movie—maybe in the movies this year—is the wife’s loving decency” (Alan Scherstuhl – The Village Voice.)
The Attack is banned in most Arab countries
This movie is rated R for some violent images, language, and brief sexuality. The Attack is in Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles and runs 102 minutes.
