By Craig Thornton

Cinema 10's final movie of the fall season, will be screened on Monday, November 26 at 7:15 PM at The Roxy Movie Theater in Potsdam, NY.

This is the final film of the fall Cinema 10 season.

Liam Lacey writes in The Globe and Mail that this film “marks one of the most auspicious American directorial debuts in years.” Benh Zeitlin constructs a modern-day mythic story set in Louisiana at the time of Hurricane Katrina. Six-year-old Hushpuppy (Quvenzhane Wallis) navigates through a part of Louisiana called The Bathtub, coping with her difficult and dying father, the aftermath of the storm and the appearance of hog-like creatures from another era. This mix of fantasy and fact akin to magical realism is a story of survival, enacted by the child heroine in ways that might recall the tough and tender heroine of Whale Rider.

Beasts of the Southern Wild runs 93 minutes, is  rated PG-13 for thematic material including child imperilment, some disturbing images, language, and brief sensuality. This film is in English.
