Local artist and children’s author Leigh Chapman will be teaching a week-long camp for ages 3-6 which will explore elements and principles of design through creative crafts. Classes meet Monday-Friday, August 11-15 from 9:00-10:00am.

Children will learn about color families, build a rock labyrinth, print and paint on fabric, explore shape and texture through beeswax candles, create mini plane and car toys that move from upcycled materials, and make sculptural trees as part of a storytelling adventure with Chapman. Parents may opt to stay and play with their children if they wish.

This week-long art camp is $60 per child, and parents are asked to bring a few basic supplies like a T-shirt. Discounted rates are available for SLC Arts members or those in need of financial assistance. Class will meet in room 229, Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St. Pre-registration through SLC Arts is required: 315-265-6860.
