FREE COMMUNITY CONCERTS

JCC to host Community Concerts Early May

North Country residents are invited to come hear Jefferson Community College (JCC) musicians perform their annual spring concerts at the beginning of May.  Community members and students in JCC’s credit bearing courses- orchestra and wind, jazz rock and Jefferson singers- will present a potpourri of selections.  Concerts are held in Sturtz Theater and admission is free.

On Tuesday, May 1, the Jefferson Singers and the JCC Jazz Rock Ensemble will share their passion for making music at 7:00 p.m. The Jefferson Singers are under the direction of Dennis R. Pucci and the Jazz Rock Ensemble is under the direction of Steven B. Lester.

On Wednesday, May 2, the JCC Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will showcase their musical talents at 7:30 p.m.  The orchestra and wind ensemble is under the baton of conductor Daniel L. Mosher.

Community members may join any of JCC’s music ensembles. Area musicians may audit the course for one-third of the cost of tuition, and individuals over 60 years of age may qualify for a tuition waiver to join the ensemble free.

For more information about the community concerts, call the liberal arts division at JCC, 315-786-2328. To learn more about auditing a course at JCC, call the Advising Center at 315-786-2271.
