SU Drama Casting July 12 & 13 for Local Boy (Age 5-11)

for Role of Frank, Jr. in Merrily We Roll Along


For the fall 2012 production of Merrily We Roll Along, the Department of Drama in Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts will be casting a local actor (age 5-11) for the role of Frank, Jr. Auditions will be held July 12 & 13 at Syracuse Stage, 820 East Genesee Street. Directed by SU Drama professor Brian Cimmet, Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along will run Sept. 28—Oct. 7 in the Storch Theatre at 820 East Genesee Street.

Description of Role: The role of Frank, Jr. appears in three scenes and includes some dialogue and some solo singing. The age of the character is 5-8 years old, though actors up to age 11 are welcome to audition.

What to prepare: Please prepare a simple song that can be sung without piano accompaniment. In addition, please prepare two short stories—one about something wonderful and exciting, and the other story about something sad.
