It isn't over until.....
The Met Live Summer Encores will bring beloved opera classics to the silver screen in Potsdam once again this July and August.
The 2013 Met Live Summer Encores will feature rebroadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live performances, which are transmitted to movie theaters across the globe through The Met: Live in HD.
North Country audiences can enjoy "Mondays at the Met" this summer, with six screenings at Potsdam's Roxy Theater this July and August. All broadcasts are offered on Mondays at 6:30 p.m.
The 2013 Summer Encores schedule and approximate running times are:
- Giacomo Puccini's "Turandot": July 29 (2 hours, 20 minutes)
- Gioachino Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia": Aug. 5 (3 hours)
Shortened intermission features will allow for the enjoyment of younger audiences, as well as busy schedules. English subtitles bring the stories to life. All are welcome to experience the depth and raw energy of world-class opera without going all the way to New York City!
In the North Country, SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music and J.S. Cinemas sponsor The Met: Live in HD.
Special summer ticket pricing is discounted: $13 for adults, $11 for senior citizens, $9 for students and $7 for youths aged 18 and under.
Tickets are available by calling the Community Performance Series Box Office at (315) 267-2277, or visiting the Roxy Theater or Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam or the CPS Box Office in the lobby of Sara M. Snell Music Theater. You can also reserve tickets online by visiting www.cpspotsdam.org.
