Murder Mystery Benefit - Thursday, the 28th

By Craig Thornton

Remember when Elvis was King?  Remember greaser haircuts and leather jackets?  How about poodle skirts and layers of crinolines?

You will have the opportunity to re-live this era or, if you are much younger, get a glimpse of what it was like when River Hospital Auxiliary hosts a murder mystery dinner at the Clayton Opera House on Thursday, June 28.

The Boldt High School class of 1955 is holding a reunion and the prom queen, football quarterback, student council and glee club presidents, the class clown and more are gathering together for a night of fun and mayhem.  And they’ll be wearing their ‘50s garb.

Unfortunately, two nights before the reunion, a fellow classmate (the yearbook photographer turned reporter) was murdered.  This class has had its share of tragedy -- another classmate died on the night of graduation.

So, when the lunch lady dies at the reunion, the police detective will be trying to connect the dots and find out “whodunit.”  And, he’ll need assistance from the guests for a little sleuthing.

Those attending are invited to dress in ‘50s outfits to fit right in, and prizes will be given for best costume and best detective.

Cocktails will be available at 6 p.m., and dinner will be at 6:30 on the top floor of the Opera House, catered by the Clipper Inn.  Fred and the Eds will provide ‘50s music.

Tickets are $85 per person or $165 a couple.  To order tickets or get more information, contact Peg Galluppi at 482-5056 or River Hospital Foundation at 482-4976.
