Area musicians are invited to join the band in this performance. There are no auditions and we know you will enjoy your experience playing with the village band. It is recommended that you park in the trinity Avenue parking lot near the small greenhouse. Cape Vincent

The Cape Vincent Christmas Committee has several fun filled events scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8th. The Annual Christmas Parade begins at 2:00 pm from Kanady St. down Broadway. Several businesses and local organizations will be entering floats and units in the parade to bring in the holiday season and of course, Santa Claus and the Mrs. will be in the parade as well.  Please look for the wagons that will be collecting non perishable canned/boxed/ hygiene goods along the parade route for the Cape Vincent Community Food Pantry. Immediately following the parade, coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be served at Aubrey’s Inn on the corner of Broadway and James Streets.  Mr. and Mrs. Santa will be in attendance to visit with the children. After the parade the Cape Vincent Fire Hall will be the location of children’s activities including pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, story time with the Library and Christmas crafts and a coloring contest with prizes sponsored by Riverside Preschool. Riverside Preschool will also hold a raffle and bake sale from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.  There will be a family hayride starting at 4:30 pm from the fire hall with caroling around town. There will be a Spaghetti Dinner at Aubrey’s Inn to benefit the Christmas Committee from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm.

The Thousand Islands Young Leaders Organization’s (TIYLO) 5th Annual Christmas Masquerade Ball will be held December 6, 2013 from 8pm to midnight at the Bonnie Castle Resort in Alexandria Bay.

Tickets for the event are available for $35 per person presale or for $40 per person at the door.

This is a formal event; ladies are encouraged to pull out that favorite special occasion dress, and for the gentlemen, it’s anywhere from suit to tux, jackets are a must!  Entertainment will be provided by Nik Lite of Nik and the Nice Guys, who have previously played at Super Bowls, toured extensively and even played for past Presidents! The event will also feature a cash bar, catered hors d’ouevres and a silent auction. To help capture memories of all this fun, a photo booth will be available, courtesy of James Bass Photography.

This year our goals are to have 300 people attend the event and raise $10,000 to donate back into the local communities. All Proceeds will directly benefit children and families in the area whose needs are higher than ever before.  Beneficiaries of all the proceeds will include, but may not be limited to: The “Clayton Christmas Fund”, a fundraiser conducted by the Clayton Sons of the American Legion Squadron #821 and the local Boy Scout Troop #46 as well as local food pantries in Clayton, Alex Bay, and Hammond and the Alex Bay Backpack Program. The Clayton Christmas fund provides baskets of food and non-perishable items, as well as grocery store gift cards, to needing families during the holiday season.
