Soap Star Jeanne Cooper Has Died

Jeanne Cooper, who played beloved matriarch, Mrs. Chancellor on The Young and the Restless has passed on. She was 84 years old. She started on the CBS serial not long after it first went on the air in 1973. 

For forty years she has been a staple of the daytime world and one of most recognizable faces and voices on television. Over the course of her tenure at Y and R, she accumulated 10 daytime Emmy nominations and finally won the award in 2008. A versatile actress who had a long career in television and a few films before she was cast in the soap, Cooper was also nominated for two primetime Emmy awards. 
Cooper was the mother of three- all of her children followed their mother’s thespian footsteps, the most famous being Corbin Bernsen, who she often co-starred with.
