The Little Shop of Horrors Opens in Potsdam

If you haven't seen this fun, horror musical, I urge you to check it out at Snell Theater SUNY Potsdam.  The Little Shop of Horrors played for over 2,000 performances off-Broadway in the 1980's-I remember seeing it then and remember it being so popular for so long that the only seat I could get was in the balcony in the fourth year of its run.

It also had a Broadway run about twenty years after the off-Broadway run- which was well received but not nearly as famous as its original Off-Broadway run.

The creative team of Howard Ashman and Alan Mencken (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beat, Pocahantas)- don't disappoint in one of the earlier efforts.  There is such a delicious score, be sure to listen closely to the lyrics.

This production is directed by the hugely talented Donna Drake, who directed the fantastic Hairspray I saw a few weeks ago.

I urge you to attend, this is one of my favorite shows, full of surprises, scares and silliness.

Performances begin tonight August 6th at 7:30 pm through Satuday evening with an additional performance at 2pm on Saturday.
