DINOSTARS! A MUSICAL VARIETY SHOW!
 
Dinostars is a fun, 30 minute musical for the younger set,ages 5-9, following the “American Idol” format, but with dinosaurs as the main character! Participants will learn theatre techniques and staging terminology. They will learn about character building, team unity, vocal production and more. Opportunities for solos, chorus singing, dance features and speaking lines are included. Performance will be on the last day of class, for which they will need a simple costume appropriate for their character.
 
 July 30-August 3, 9am-11:30 am
Performance on Friday, August 3 at 11am, at Arts on the Square

Materials Fee:
$5 to be paid to instructor, for learning CD, copies of music
 
Instructor Katie Taylor is a NYS certified Music Instructor, currently teaching K-12 music at Alexandria Central School. There, she has directed the annual school musical for 14 years and often incorporates the younger students into the high school productions.
 
Mrs. Taylor brings a sense of fun, passion for music, and commitment to excellence. Since winning her first Harmony Incorporated, International championship, a quartet singing award, at the age of 21, she has been a sought after acappella educator who leads workshops around the United States and Canada, Mrs. Taylor has also been recognized with professional awards, including Syracuse Symphony Music Teacher of the Year 2005, and the JAYCEES Young Professional in the Arts Award for 2011.  Mrs. Taylor earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Crane School of Music.
