PUTTING IT TOGETHER is a musical “review” celebrating the songs of Stephen Sondheim. Drawing its title from a song in Sunday in the Park with George, the show came about due to many requests for an updated version of the 1976 Sondheim review, Side By Side By Sondheim, and had an interesting route to Broadway. Devised by Sondheim and Julia McKenzie, PUTTING IT TOGETHER first premiered in Oxford, England in 1992 with a cast that included Diana Rigg, Claire Moore and Clarke Peters.
