Weekend of July 13 -15

The Jefferson County Fair continues this weekend, and attendance is up - check out all the events here.

The French Festival, in the charming hamlet of Cape Vincent has been going strong for over forty years.  Cape Vincent may be small and less bustling than Sackets Harbor or Clayton, but it is beautifully located at the place where the river meets the lake.  However it will be bustling this weekend for one of the biggest and heavily attended festivals of the year.  I am sure this year will be a fantastic success, because the festival is actually falling on the Bastille Day itself.  Usually the festival falls on the weekend closest and before Bastille Day.

The French Festival has great food, and one of the most comprehensive craft fairs of the season.  It also boasts one of the most elaborate and longest parades in the North Country.  Celebrating the village’s French Heritage, you will be sure to see native French period costumes, French bread, French pastry and Fireworks.

Free shuttle busses provide rides right to the action, so you don’t have to try and get downtown in your car.

A great plus Fred and The Eds playing during the Parade and afterwards.

For more information check the French Festival Website.

Another Great Festival – is on Saturday, The Cheddar Cheese Festival in Adams, NY

Saturday only 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in Downtown Adams-

This includes of course, one of my favorite things on the planet, CHEESE.  It also includes another favorite of mine, WINE at the Wine Garden, which features 5 Local wineries.

Plenty of food-A Kid’s Zone-Raffles with great prizes-Cheese Sculpting-

Free admission – for this great event – check out all the activities and get the information HERE.

Also the village of Potsdam has it going on right now, with its Summer Festival and its Raquette River Craft Beer and Wine Fest.

Here is a description taken from the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce website:
