Artists On The Point

On Saturday July 28, 2012 the fourth annual Art Show and Sale will be held again at the Rustic Club on Pillar Point in Dexter, NY. The show will be held from 10-3.

The show will feature, ceramics, photography, textiles,jewelry, fused glass, therom painting, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, Wood and Henna Tattoos.

Artists participating will include:Mary Catherman, Jack DeGraw, Cathie Ellsworth,Chris Hall, Christa Harris, Hope Marshall, Ron McGregor, Annette Miller, Nancy Mossing, Tom Murray, Karen Peebles, Kari Robertson, Jo-Ann Schieffelin, Lisa Schonfield, Jana Seiders, Denise Smith, Bob Stojetz, Cecilia Thompson and Gina Wells

The Rustic will be doing a Chicken BBQ starting at 11:00, there will also be music provided by Randy Verne from 12-2, raffles . The local SPCA will also be present that day with a tent, animals and literature.

Proceeds from the raffle will go directly to help our local SPCA and some of the proceeds from the BBQ as well. Please come and support the local arts and also the SPCA.

The Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Vincent Arts Council are pleased to announce the Concert on the Green series featuring The Frank Sacci Orchestra on Saturday, July 28th on the Cape Vincent Village Green from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The Frank Sacci Orchestra consists of sixteen musicians dedicated to recreating the Big Band sound of yesterday and today.  They have performed with the following: Al Martino, Jerry Vale, Robert Goulette, Connie Francis, The Smothers Brothers and Eddie Fischer.  The band plays authentic arrangements of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey and other famous bands.  They have been swinging Northern New York audiences of all ages for over twenty-five years. 

 Frank and his Orchestra are a local institution, having performed at the Mayor’s Ball in Watertown for 22 years. Before retiring to Florida for the winters, Frank also conducted the Jefferson Community College Orchestra and Wind Ensemble for many years.

The Concerts on the Green are scheduled on Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and are FREE of charge.They are held on the Village Green on Broadway Street so bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the entertainment. In the event of inclement weather the concerts will be held in the Cape Vincent Fire Hall also located on Broadway Street.  


Skye Sands will play at the Lake Ontario Playhouse comedy show this weekend, shows are at 9pm, for more information check out their website.


Clayton Opera House:


 TIPAF is pleased to welcome back to the Clayton Opera House stage Long Island native and Clayton resident — now a hometown favorite — Kathryn Ingerson. This classically trained soprano, alongside her special guests, will present a musical celebration of life and love on the St. Lawrence River with both familiar and more contemporary melodies, along with newly composed original music.

On Saturday, July 28th, from 9am to 4pm, the Mountain R/C Modelers of Old Forge will hold its 11th Annual Fly-In and Fun-Fly at the airfield on North Street in Old Forge.

The highlight of this radio-controlled model event will feature an air show at 1 pm. The event draws pilots from all over the East. AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) membership is required to fly. The airfield is a one-thousand foot grass facility.

The public is invited to bring a chair and enjoy a day with friends, family and our radio-controlled flying community. Admission is free, and food and drinks will be available on-site.

The Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival Continues through this weekend.  Many cool and fun events are happening, including a midway and a toilet paper toss.  Really?
