What exactly is going on in Morristown?

August 2, 2010 - A Fine Line - Jazz at Chapman Park, Morristown.  7PM to 9PM.  A Fine Line  is pianist Bill Vitek and bass player Dan Gagliardi.  They will play standards and jazz in the gazebo in Chapman Park, near the Morristown Fire Station.  Some of the finest jazz between Manhattan and Montreal ... plus a view of the St. Lawrence.  No admission charge.

August 6 through 8, 2010 - Quilt Show at Morristown Gateway Museum - 10AM to 4PM.  Come see quilts and other needlework connected with the region.  Most quilts were done by local residents, others belonged to early residents.  This year's display is new from the prior show.  No admission charge.  Handicapped accessible. 

August 7, 2010 - Conrad Story Blues Band featuring Rick Bates - 7 to 9 PM.  This band will warm your soul if you are into the blues.  On stage in the Morristown Gateway Museum's second floor hall.  The Museum's Quilt Show will be available to concert-goers.  Handicapped accessible.  No admission charge.

August 9, 2010 - Barbara Heller in Morristown Concert - 7 to 9 PM.  Barbara Heller, the host of NPR's "String Fever" will play traditional American music in the gazebo at Chapman Park, Morristown, near the Fire Station.  Barbara brings melody and acoustic guitar to a great natural setting.  No charge.  Rain location:  Morristown Gateway Museum, Main St., Morristown. 

August 12, 2010 - Presentation on St. Lawrence Ferry service at Morristown - 7 to 9 PM.  Ferry service used to link communities across the St. Lawrence River.  Rick Johnson, whose family operated the service in Morristown, will show photos and talk about crossing the River by ferry.  Morristown Gateway Museum, Main St., Morristown.  Handicapped accessible.  No charge. 

August 16, 2010 - Nichols Family Presents Gospel Music - 7 to 9 PM.  Tom Nichols and his family present music of faith.  Celebrate the gospel tradition in a beautiful natural setting with a view of the St. Lawrence River.  Bad weather location:  Morristown Gateway Museum.  No admission charge. 

August 20, 2010 - Spaghetti Dinner - 4:30 to 6:30 PM.  The spaghetti dinner, hosted by Don Ceresoli, is an important fund raiser for the Morristown Gateway Museum.  Join your friends for dinner at the Morristown Fire Hall near Chapman Park in Morristown.  

August 23, 2010 - Concert by Northern Lights Orchestra - 7 to 9 PM.  The Northern Lights Orchestra presents symphonic pops on a summer evening.  Because of the size of the Orchestra, the concert will be in the Morristown Gateway Museum on Main Street.  No admission charge.  Handicapped accessible. 

August 28, 2010 - Crafts Demonstration - 10AM to 4PM.  See master-crafters at work.  Don Morley will carve duck decoys.  Marty Snye of River Forge will practice blacksmithing.  Jack Taylor will demonstrate wood carving.  Melanie Connor will make glass beads.  The Museum will be open for tours.  No admission charge.
