BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

JULY 25, 26, 27-2014

 

Friday, July 25- Downtown Area:

10 am- Noon  3- 5 pm- Interviews by Joan Thaler Dobbie with residents for a multi-media document on History of the Town

3-6 pm- Music by Patrick McGill & Handsome Pete's Band

4-6 pm- Chicken Barbecue-(Parishville Amvets Post 26 )

6-7 pm- Downtown Gazebo- Opening Ceremony and Dedication

Of Interpretive Panels & Time Capsule

7-11 pm- Block Dance with the River Mohawks Band

7- 11 pm-Food Concessions inside the Fire Station-(Parishville Sons of Amvets)

7- 11 pm- Video Presentation on History of Parishville- downstairs of Town Hall

7 -10 pm-Kids movie in upstairs of Town Hall- concessions will be sold (Parishville Recreation Committee)

 

Saturday, July 26-

Open House at Luke Brown Cabin Replica @ 831 SH 72- owned by Gary & Jane Snell 9 am to 11 am- Saturday only

Open House @ 1739 SH 72- Helen Condon’s House ( Former Grange)  2 to 4 pm Saturday only

 10 am- 7 pm- Free Bus Transportation Available between Venues

  Downtown Area:

7:30 am- 11 am- Town Hall- Coffee & Donuts (Parishville Hilltoppers)

11 am- 11 pm -Food Concessions- Parishville Amvets Ladies Auxiliary & Masonic Lodge

11 am – 8 pm-Video Presentation on History of Parishville- downstairs of Town Hall

 Noon- Parade

1 pm- 4 pm- Horseshoe Tournament- Amvets- contact Larry Butler

1 pm- 5 pm- Horse Drawn Tour of Hamlet and old homes

11 am- 2 pm- Special Ed & Friends

2 - 5 pm-  Generation Gap (Country)

5 - 8 pm- Long Time Gone (Older Rock & Roll)

10 pm- Fireworks- sponsored by the Parishville Masonic Lodge

 

Parishville Hopkinton School

10 am- 4 pm- Craft Fair (Parishville PTSA)

4 pm-7 pm- Mini Soccer Tournament

 

 

Fireman Field- Rutman Road

10 am- 3 pm- Car Show (George Cox)

1 & 3 pm- Concert after the parade- Norwood Brass Firemen & Brockville Pipe Band

10 am- 4 pm- Food Concession Stand (Parishville Fireman's Auxiliary)

9 am- 4 pm- One-pitch Softball Tournament (Brian Phillips)

12:30 -3 pm- Roast Beef & Turkey Dinner (Parishville Hilltoppers)

 

Parishville Beach/Park

8 am- 10 pm- Food Concessions-( Parishville After Prom Committee)

8 to 9 am- Registration for Children’s Dirt Run & 5K Walk or Run

9 -11am- 5 K Walk or Run

9 -10 am Children’s Dirt Run

10 am to 7 pm- Water Slide, Obstacle Course, Sticky Wall & Bounce House

1 pm- Face Painting by PHCS Class of 2015

1 pm- Cubby the Clown Magic Show

1 -4 pm- Popcorn-Snow Cones  (Parishville Ladies Integrated Auxiliary)

2 pm- Pirate’s Adventure Pirate Ship on the Beach  (Ages 2 – 8)

2:30 pm- Buried Treasure Hunt-Sawdust Pile (Ages 5 – 15)

2:30 to 4 pm- Sand Castle Competition- Judging @ 4 pm- Prizes Awarded

3 to 5 pm- Canoe & Kayak Races- Register by 1 pm- Drop off canoe or kayak by 1:30 pm

4:30 pm- Tug of War Competition- Prizes Awarded

5  to 7 pm- Ice Cream Social- Compliments of Stewarts

 5 to 7 pm- Jack Kelly Little Big Band

7 to 11 pm- Dance in the Arena with Dick Wickwire ;Wired for Sound

10 pm  Fireworks- sponsored by Parishville Masonic Lodge

 

Sunday July 27

     Downtown Area:

Noon- 4 pm- Fiddler/Bluegrass Concert on Northern Music Sound Stage featuring the Barn Boys and Hickory Stump

 Food Cart Vendor- 11 am  to 4 pm

Fireman' s Field- Rutman Road:

 9  to 9:30 am- Opening Ceremony for new County ATV Trail

 9:30 am to Noon- ATV Run on new County ATV Trail

There will be no chairs available at the various venues.  We ask everyone coming to participate in the events to bring their own lawn chair.

Legal beverages will be available for sale the Amvets Post at the Downtown Venue.  There will be no legal beverages for sale at the Beach Venue or at the Fireman's Field.
