Actor Todd Bridges To Speak At JCC

By Diane Rutherford

Actor and author Todd Bridges says he wants to share his experiences with drugs and crime so he can help others avoid the pain he went through.

Bridges appeared on 7 News at Noon Friday to talk about his life, his new book and his upcoming appearance at Jefferson Community College.

Bridges, most commonly known for his role as Willis Jackson in the 1980's TV sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, discussed childhood stardom and the traumas which drove him to drugs and crime.
His actions almost cost him a life sentence in jail.

Today, he uses his testimony to encourage others.

Todd shares his personal story in a memoir, Killing Willis, for which the presentation at JCC is based.

He will be speaking Friday at 7:30 p.m. at JCC's Sturtz Theater.

Admission is free.
