'Braman's Block' Is Next Habitat Project

Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity is teaming up with Carthage Savings and Loan to put the site of a former push-broom factory back to good use.

It's called Braman's Block Project, the former site of Braman's Manufacturing in Carthage. Habitat hopes to build five or six homes for low-income families during the three-year project.

The bank is committing $75,000 to the project, its largest donation ever.  The first $50,000 of that is a donation. If Habitat can raise another $25,000, the bank will donate another $25,000, for a total of $100,000 for the project.
