Tools

Tracy Evans is a student in the paramedic program at Jefferson Community College.

She's taking advantage of a partnership between the college and the Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service (TIERS).

It's called a "Bunk-In" Program and it provides students with on-the-job training.

Evans says she puts in 26 hours a week at TIERS and receives a $1,500 scholarship each semester.

For more information on the program, call Rolly Churchill, TIERS executive director, at 315-686-2058.
