It's a way to celebrate agriculture and, more specifically, the importance of the dairy industry in the north country.
June is Dairy Month and the Jefferson County Dairy Festival is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday (June 7) at the Dulles State Office Building on Washington Street in Watertown.
Weather permitting, there will be a parade on Washington Street at 7 p.m.
A giant ice cream sundae will be served at 9 p.m.
There's a farm and craft market at the dairy festival from 2 to 6 p.m.
And, it's dairy night at the Watertown Rams home opener Thursday night at the Alex Duffy Fairground.
There will be a cheese-curd-eating contest and bags of cheese curd will be tossed to the crowd at every Rams home game.
