Celebrate 'Bridge Day' In Wanakena This Weekend

People in Wanakena are raising money to rebuild the historic footbridge that was a fixture in the community for over a century.

Marsha Smith and Alan Ditch co-chair the fund-raising committee. Click on the picture for their interview on 7 News This Morning.

The bridge was destroyed by ice over the winter and there's an event this weekend to help raise the nearly $300,000 to rebuild it.

It's called Bridge Day and it's from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. August 16 in Wanakena.

There will be historical displays, children's games and crafts, foot-long hot dogs, and a pie-baking contest.
