Tools

The fourth annual Michael Cerroni 5K is coming up next month.

It's named for a former Marine captain who was killed in a snowmobile accident eight years ago.

The event raises money for a scholarship fund at Carthage Central. Heather Miller, shown above, is the 2013 recipient. She was interviewed on 7 News This Morning alone with Cerroni's mother, Patty Strife.

The run is June 29 and starts from Maple Street Park in Black River.

The event is professionally timed. No pets, bikes, skateboards or roller blades are allowed.

Preregistration is recommended.

Packet pickup is from 7  to 8:30 a.m. The run gets underway at 9 a.m. and an awards ceremony is at 10 a.m.

For information, call 315-493-4023 or go to www.michaelcerroni5k.com.
