Credo Sees Alarming Rise In Heroin Use

Heroin use is in the headlines right now because of the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

But what's concerning is the drug's use in the north country.

Heroin use is on the rise locally.

Credo Community Center says that of the people who sought treatment at Credo in 2013, 21.5 percent used heroin as their primary or secondary drug of choice.

In 2012, that number was 13 percent.

Jim Scordo from the Credo Community Center appeared on 7 News at Noon on Friday to talk about the problem.
