Leadership Institute Plans Volunteerism Day

Tools

The Jefferson Leadership Institute is hosting JLI Volunteerism Day on Saturday, April 26 at 9 a.m.

The event is designed to bring together JLI alumni, current JLI students and high school students across Jefferson County, while giving back to the community.

Organizers hope this will become an annual event with a strong sense of community involvement, networking, and celebration.

The members of the current JLI class have earmarked two projects for assistance this spring.

With over 100 cemeteries in Jefferson County, many of which lacking active maintenance groups, JLI is recruiting volunteers to help clean up and restore the properties.

For the second project, attention is turned to the NYS Zoo at Thompson Park.

The zoo has many maintenance projects to complete with limited manpower.

A wide variety of projects is available for all talent and interest levels.

Phone numbers: 788-7430, extension 3021, or 804-7925.
